Holiday Gifts
So the kids have been bought for for the last two weeks now, but that doesn't stop Hubby from getting them more and more. Last night somehow we ended up with two Scooby Doo books. I have been looking at Build A Bear as a stocking stuffer since we were at the mall for the Apple Store. The Lady loved all the animals, and I would love to take her. I hope that I can win this giveaway for Build A Bear over at A Child Chosen ... Wish me luck!

Holiday Poll, Not to be confused with a Festivus Pole

I got this Poll from Robyn's Online World it had been a while since I had to fill out any silly poll that I got as a chain letter and I was missing that, so here we go!

Real tree, artificial tree, or no tree?
Artificial. I wish we had the money to shell out for a real tree every year, it just wouldn't work since we have three trees, I'll explain in a minute...

Themed tree or hodge podge of ornaments collected?
Themes. One tree for bears, one for penguins and one for Scooby Doo. We now have a garland of homemade ornaments. We are all about excess.

Do you celebrate (or give a nod even) to multiple holidays this time of year? Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, etc.
Christmas and Hanukkah for us. I love listening to Hubby and daughter go through the Hebrew prayers, it's as timeless as my daughter saying that Baracko Obama will be our next president. Next year we are going to a Diwali festival since we missed it this year.

Present opening - Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
It's kind of a constant barage through both days. It's a bit sick actually...

Do you like Christmas Carolers or do you turn off the lights and pretend not to be at home?
Caroling is great, but we've never had anyone come by our house. I used to go with groups and carol at retirement homes and that was always really fun. I hope that my daughter and Little Man will want to do something like that when their a bit older.

Old style Christmas lights or LED lights?
We've mainly put up LED on the house, but we still have some C7s and mini lights around, too. They now have solar LED lights, that sounds awesome, but I think we'll wait for other lights to die off.

Do you believe in Santa?
It's a magical time of year, just ask those who have nothing.

Do you put out snacks for Santa and the Reindeer?
Yep. Cookies for Santa and bagels for the reindeer. For some reason my daughter decided that was what reindeer would like a few Christmases ago and now it's tradition that we scatter bagels outside (since they can't get down the chimney on account of the antlers). On Christmas morning we know they've been there from all of the glitter dust on the ground.

Would you rather have a white Christmas with snow and cold or a white sandy beach Christmas?
SNOW! We haven't had snow for like four years, but it would be so amazing to share with the kids!

What are special baked goods, treats, foods you like during the holidays?
Reindeer chow (Chex and M&Ms mixed with melted marshmallows and chocolate ganache) and potato pancakes.

Do you sing along with holiday music or cover your ears when you hear it?
Sing for sure! We even use holiday songs at bedtime! Barenaked Ladies has an excellent holiday album that we've been listening to, and the Elf soundtrack is awesome!

Blinds, Finally!
So Mommies with Cents is a cool freebies and deals site and they're giving away a $100 home depot card which I would love to win, because, FINALLY, we would have blinds and no one would see me strip off my shirt and throw it straight into the washing machine when Little Man throws up on me.

Home Depot is Calling my Name...
There's a $100 Home Depot card calling my name at Bargain Briana

It would be so awesome to finally have blinds and be able to walk around naked in private (just kidding...)

I really want $500
Amy at MomAdvice is offering a $500 Walmart card sponsored by Nickelodeon. She has a great site that is very inspirational for cooking, crafts and saving money.

So I am going to share a money saving tip, too. This Christmas/Hanukkah donate a toy, donate blood, donate clothing. It's a form of entertainment and it truly will help someone. I am donating blood and I get some free ice cream from Baskin Robbins, which will be a treat for my daughter and I.
