These are a Few of my Favorite Things...
So Goose loves holiday music, "Monster Mash", "Maoz Tzur/Rock of Ages" (her Hebrew is hilarious), "Rudolph", all are sung on a daily basis even when it's 100 degrees, so I guess that's why I've had "These are a Few..." playing over and over again in my head.

So on that note (ha! ha!) here are a few of my favorite things:

Breakfast skewers. I saw this on Cooking During Stolen Moments and we do this now all the time! When dining alfresco, there is nothing better than these that the kiddos get to customize on their own with whatever fruit and carbs you've got in the fridge. Here's pineapple, grape and bagel.

A Pulley System. We didn't have rope, so after tying together belts and a jump rope (with paintbrushes, cause we're so MacGuyver-like) we now have an easy and fun way of keeping the house organized. Whatever toys that are downstairs and get put away upstairs get put in the basket and hauled up at the end of the night. It makes it fun and manageable for Goose and I to do, while Ludo and Monkey try to grab the basket.

The Mysterious Benedict Society. We're not done with it yet, so please don't spoil if anyone is commenting and has read it! It's a bit hefty and probably a bit over Goose's head, but it reads like Dahl and Snicket had a love child. Reynie exemplifies the kinds of morals that I want to instill in Goose, so even if she isn't getting the plot, which I can go over with her, it's heartening to hear her say things like "that's good that he's not cheating" and "he's being nice to Constance and she's not nice to him!", plus her sitting on my back and brushing my hair while shouting "Mysterious Benedict Society" everytime they say it is great.

Giveaways. I'm a full blown addict. I have a problem. Ziggy and I argue about it all the time and while he doesn't get it, I think you will so here are the places you'll want to check out:

Do you love SKR as much as I do? I mean to the point where I considered driving 10 hours for their warehouse sale in Portland, whoops! I mean to visit family... Well There's a HUGE back to school giveaway going on at 3 Garnets & 2 Sapphires. Go. get thee there!

Help Multiple Blessings reach her blog goals and get to BlogHer 2010 with her super-amazing $50 gift card giveaway!

I also really love Amazon and am super excited and hoping I can win Giveaway Central's first giveaway!

Finally, Vampires. True Blood is amazing. Ziggy and I are beginning the Sookie Stackhouse novels (he's on book 2, while I've got Frankenstein to finish first, but don't get your panties in a bunch, Mom, I've only just begun), I'm a Twilight fan, too. I think Gary Oldman is keen. I've seen Plan Nine From Outer Space. And that might be why I think that Goose is sucking an unsuspecting Monkey's blood in this pic:
